If that was the Steve McQueen 917 that was used in le Mans, it used to be in Otis Chandler's museum in Oxnard and was nearly perfect.
Most race cars are all beat up and look like trash up close but not this one. I drooled over it for an hour straight one day.

I'd say that price was a little higher than most because of it's celebrity history and condition.
A Le Mans winner might bring even more because of winning race history.
