If things do eventually go down, I'll be greatful to not be in a major metro area. I'll be in central KS with my in-laws, and my father-in-law's cache of guns, surrounded by similarly minded individuals. Farmers and backwards rednecks look pretty appealing in the face of anarchy. Though I still am hard pressed to see it happen, I think the magnitude of the attack required to throw our country into the dark ages is beyond what a these terrorists can muster. Even the destruction of a major US city, horrible as it would be, wouldn't be enough to cause the social structure and authority in the rest of the nation to vaporize. I'm sure there would be looting, violence, and general unrest, but I believe that we would be able to recover.

Probably the only good thing that came out of 9/11 is it showed that our country is still able to pull together, regardless of the large differences in opinion that some of us have. We were attacked, pissed off, and united towards the common goal of kicking the ass of whoever did it to us. I think we all have it in us, just some hide it better than others.
