Was just in Beirut Lebanon. They are really having issues there and one of them is just what you mentioned. The city is 40% Christian and 60% Moslem. It used to be the other way but in the last 30 years the Christian's have remained at about 2.2 kids per family, while the Moslems are at 5+ kids per family.
The Christians are worried that they are being over-run and are at this time being out voted on many things in the govt. They do not want their country to become another Iran where everyone is forced to adhere to Islamic law.
