Standard steel head studs are the way to go for a "mostly stock" 930. with my 930 rebuild I had a few problems not mentioned in Waynes partly due to my inexperience.
- The rocker shafts RSR seal upgrade is a MUST and the factory torque settings for the rocker shafts is too little they tend to walk.
- Ensure you torque the intake manifold down sufficiently as mine has air leaks with the new gaskets (Can't find the torque settings in the book)
- My Gasket kit was missing a few important seals
- RSR rocker shaft seals
- Oil thermosat seal
- Carrera chain tensioner O ring seals
I used Threebond 1211 sealant to great success on the top end.
