Well, it's 40ºC (104ºF) as I type this at 7:45pm.
It reached a peak of 44.8ºC (113ºF) today at around 5pm.
Stinking hot, relative humidity of about 9%. I keep forgetting that this is Melbourne, Australia and not Baghdad, Iraq.
It's been pretty oppressive for the last couple of days, but today has been the worst. Local forecast advises that it will only drop to around 27ºC (81ºF) overnight before shooting back upto the high 30s.
I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight - it's certainly
not 911 weather and a pretty crappy way to ring in the New Year...
