A Canon - 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II/III USM EF Lens is less than $300 and the Tamron Autofocus 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II Macro Lens for Canon Digital SLR Cameras is about $360. Neither of these have the image stabilization in them and I have found the Tamron shoots excellant pictures under all kinds of circumstances. Why do you say you can only shoot at noon and on sunny days? The ISO is adjustable to 1600 which allows shooting in low light and fast action. Holding the camera still enough at 300 for a clear picture is something you can learn to do or use a monopod or tripod and almost guaranty a clear shot.
