You could not and should not switch from Acrylic to Sapphire. The former is better anyway, it does not shatter or chip. Just scratches easier but could be buffed out.
Not too expensive to change, maybe $50 parts & labor at any good watchmaker. Make sure to get factory parts and have it resealed and pressure tested. Should take less than 30 mins.
