the engine had been running a little while previously. as far as the smell, i have slipped the clutch when i first got the car and thats how it smelled, so i chalked it up to inexpirienced shifting. As far as the alt light, i thought it was a battery light, like my battery isn't charging anymore something. I just figured i needed a new battery. Something i learned from computers is that you can never really know what your doing until you F something up. None of the experts out there have flawless records.
