My wifes 95 vw cabrio did the same thing.....its normal. condensation... GUARNTEED!
I almost pulled her motor apart too. Change the oil, and drive on a few long drives. Check the dipstick.... not the cap. If the dipstick is milky... only then go for a head gasket.
