It's all true except this one. I've had to walk from mechanics before because they tried to pull stuff, I've had to "see the manager" because of this, and when I worked in retail auto parts I heard horror stories from both men and women that were conned and lied to by mechanics.

I think back in the day it may have been only women, but not these days. Too many men don't have a clue now.
