Interesting, the roofline reminds me of an M coupe. I think a fastback roof style would suit the Solstice nicely as well. Maybe a CS-esque lightweight version? 
Scott, you think of the Solstice as retro? It's simple curves somewhat remind me of classic Jags, but I would think of it as a modern car, as compared to the Mustang that uses obvious styling cues from the past.
