It's a shame someone lost their life, but the officer did what he was trained and had to do. He acted on instinct, and made the decision he had to, to ensure his return home at the end of the day.
It's a shame more of society can't do ride alongs with police officers and firefighters when the shiit is hitting the fan. A lot of them would cry for their mom and then understand why they get paid slightly more than a garbage man.
