here are a couple before and after pics of the walther P5 i mentioned in an earlier post. this was a 23 year old ex-police issue pistol. had it a week or so before i tore it apart and did my own gun kote to it. not bad for a first try. the grips were really worn too, so i coated them with bed liner paint and this weekend was playing with grip tape overlays in the checkered areas.
biggest thing was getting a nice consistent coating/finish and now the slide, frame, and controls all have the same look to them, regardless of different materials. any glare around the small bits is just surface oil. the pistol went from whole to pieces to coating to whole again and then off the range...all in the same weekend.
it had been over 3 years since i had been to the NRA range in fairfax...sad, considering it is less than two miles from where i live.
