My Dr told me he no longer offers local anethesia because he had too many people flinch and cause bigger problems. 
He also warned me on taking it easy for a week. He told me the folks that don't heed his advice typically arrive with their nuts in a wheel barrow. "grapefruit sized" is not uncommon...
