Ther's not much to decode on a 1980 model. The VIN is correct for a 1980 US-spec car. That's pretty much all there is to know for that year.

The oil level gauge for your car should be part number 911.641.202.03. You can see this number inscribed inside the glass at the very top of the gauge. Look up at it from below the gauge to see the number. The US cars originally had a gauge marked with the German spelling for oil. At some point they changed the spelling but I don't recall what year. No big deal, either way.
