Recent past threads discuss this. Stock shift coupler (under rear tunnel panel) bushings have oblong holes. Replacements are round. More noise. This, we believe is the noise Porsche fought with using such contraptions as the famed rubber centered clutch disks.

I recently changed my shift bushings (actually I watched while Tyson did it) and the new noise is quite noticeable. I'm a pushover for car sounds though, so I like it. Even though it is one of the more icky sounding car noises.

Though my car is basically bone stock, I do like racecar cars much better than smooth, luxury cars. So I like the noise. The more noise my car makes, the less it impersonates an 'ordinary' car.
