That's sound advice.
Regarding Karma: Though I'm not Buddist, I do believe there is much truth to the 'what you reap is what you sow.' philosophy. As such, sometimes that Karma is brought upon you by other people - so maybe in this case, I've been used as an instrument of karma upon Ted.
