I'm with ya Z.
As a member of a community, he should have at least come clean and apologised (I guess he has no excuse/comeback... it certainly looked that way anyhow). As a moderator, it's inexcusable. I would say that if it was a one time discretion, then OK, it happens sometimes. But it seems that he's done this sort of thing a few times, and as such, as he's in a position of authority over there, he needs to explain his actions.
Now, to delete the thread, (not lock, not abyss, but actually delete it) is just plain wrong. Randy in OT couldn't let it go on as it was (the other thread got to be just a bashing of another ex-lister rather than a constructive communication), but there's absolutely no reason why Ted should delete it completely. Unless he has something to hide of course.... So, it didn't fit in OT (fair nuff I think), and now it doesn't belong in the place where the deal started.....
As it is, he's chosen to yet again, apply his double standards. There was a thread he allowed to run and run, where people were getting called all sorts of names over a bad deal, yet it didn't get touched by Ted. His reason: The seller wasn't answering PMs/emails, so this was the last course of action. I guess Ted wasn't doing much answering of mails from you either Z?
Now he decides that a quibble over a deal is "not a technical thread". Mmmmm, interesting decision when it's over him...... Perhaps Serge will push matters over a deal that DID actually go bad for his seats. Let's see him delete that!
The only response I saw from Ted, was a good Ostrich impersonation. However, In doing so, he also posted a link to Tony Garcia's page (
www.tonygarcia.org) where he not only came over as an unfair moderator (looking after the interests of a particular company -even when there was no direct attack on the company, just the guy who fitted his own parts- rather than allowing a fair debate), but then proceeded to become downright petty, rude, abnoxious, and extremely unprofessional when he mailed a banned member who had created a new account, and proceeded to throw insults at him (which I won't repeat on here!). Nice one Ted.
When I see things like this, I get the feeling that not only is he not deserving of a position of authority in a community, but he really shouldn't be in the community at all!
Personally, I've had enough of that place anyhow. There seem to be more tales of street racing, dodgy jokes by Ted's mates, and general flaming than ever. I'm not interested in a community where a small group of people run the place by domination. That's like High school! I'll stick with my local GB forums thanks. Although we don't have the numbers of a Rennlist, at least we have a decent spirit.
