I was getting my rolex serviced every 3 years and was told to do it more like every 5+ years. I was also told not to service it unless there is a problem, but, I am a preventative maintenance type so I will stick with a 5-7 year regimen.

I would not worry as much about the 2.5 minutes as I would about the stem loosening up. I have a habit of always checking mine before I jump in any water. That losse stem could cause bigger problems though.I would get that fixed pronto.
