Not real familar with Assualt Weapons in General.
If I'm not mistaken Armalite was the orginal inventor of the AR...Neighbor has an AR10 and I see no real difference in quality between that and a Colt AR.....
The name brand recognition of the Colt can't be beat...the Colt version of the gun you are describing is 3Xs as expensive as what you quoted.
In guns the best axiom I can think of is buy the BEST quality gun you can afford...read that as NAME BRAND...it will have the best resale value down the line.
