Craig,
The Steelers are favored by 4 points, so the current line is Seahawks +4, (or Steelers -4) simply meaning the Seahawks start the game with 4 points already on the board. The Seahawks could lose the game, but still cover the spread, if the Steelers don't win by at least 4 points--say 28-31--add the 4 points to the Seahawks score, and you end up 32-31, thus winning the bet.
In the event of a push--say 17-21...the bet will become void. Push is just betting slang for a tie.
Typically if gambling with a bookie, a push results in you losing the juice only--as was mentioned--juice is typically 10% of your bet, so if you bet 100 on the game, and it pushed, you would only pay 10.00 If you lost the bet, you would pay 110.00(which is your wager + the juice).
So, if you are interested, our wager would be 100.00 even.
I will take the Steelers at -4. You will take the Seahawks.
No juice, if it ends in a push--the wager is void.
Sound good?
PS--in case any Feds are reading this, we are talking about 100 peanuts.
