The leaky rear window can cause rust holes in the firewall as I found out when I removed the pad on my race car and cleaned things, there were four holes of various sizes! To get them fixed was going to cosy about $350 or so so I bought a MIG welder and did it my self. The sound deader pad will trap the water and eat right through. There are also a couple of places in the lower left engine compt that will let water in such as the e-brake tubes, etc. I removed everything and looked inside as we sprayed water at the back and found the leaks.
