Try owning a Ferrari. Ever heard of $2000 for valve job (bring the heads to the machine shops, and they work on them and then give them back to you for installation). The excuse was "there are some critical dimensions we have to hold to." Eff them! Did it myself.
A regular machine shop charges $125 for a valve job on a V8! Any V8.
