you are spot-on. The bearing race for the output shaft has about 0.2mm axial play in its seat  I wouldn't even call this a slip fit anymore. It's a close fit at best  - The loctite stuff looks good on paper at ambient temperatures. However, IMHO it would only be a question of time when the race gets loose again and the ring&pinion is going to grenade. I guess off goes the diff housing to get welded up and machined at Wevo.
