I think you are wrongfully assuming that I do not know what I am talking about. My commentary is not based on conjecture. I have done extensive research into 944 N/A transaxles, have had several apart, rebuilt 2 now, and am very aware of the modes of failure and the causes. Simply put, you are exceeding the design parameters of the 944 N/A trans, specifically the ring and pinion gears. Add that to the fact that most of your customers will have used transmissions in their cars verses a newly rebuilt unit with the proper shim/lash on the r&p, and I will guarantee a failure. You see, the ring and pinion wears over time in the differential and the interface gets sloppy. When load is applied on take-off and also downshifting, the teeth bang against each other and eventually if the lash. If the lash is great enough and the load is large enough, teeth are sheered off of the ring gear and usually the pinion gear. Even with a newly rebuilt unit with the proper shim/lash, it will last a little while but it is a compromise at best.

I have a lot more info than I have posted here to back up my opinion, but frankly this entire thread has become derailed and you seem to not be interested in listening to anything that any of us have had to say that is remotely constructive.

I am not going to go back and forth about this with you anymore. Good luck on your project, hope it works out for you.
