you never once mentioned the added pressure on the transmission in that last message of yours.
point in fact is, if you want to supercharge a 944, you can. yes. for approximately 2000 using your materials.
But to do it safely, and so you do wreck your car, you need to exchange a majority of the drivetrain....
bottom line - stock 944 transmission was not built to withstand extra pressure. hell, it can barely withstand abuse on it's own with native parts.
so your 2000 dollar supercharger kit is now turning into a 2000+price of those parts. this is undeniable. You said yourself that your clutch exploded. This should show you that it wasn't strong enough. You cant deny that fact.
You can go on and on about "my friend did this, my friend did that..." that's all well and good, but to be honest? and I'm not calling you a liar, I hope you dont think I am, but they're not exactly testimonials. They're word of the manufacturer/seller.
show me, with some sort of list please... What it would take to supercharge a *modest* example of a 20+ year old 944, and estimated costs.... and here's the kicker - to do it *safely* so there is no inherent damage to my vehicle.
you need your supercharger kit obviously (or *a* supercharger kit)
brakes
transmission/clutch.......
suspension parts....
go on from here please.
now add up those values.
you'll quickly find that yes you can boost a 944 - i dont deny that. But there are more variables that need to be addressed than you just saying "any 944 can be boosted - it's easy".
Boost=Power yes.
but also:
Boost=Power=More chances for stock N/A moving parts to fail.
