Point well taken... again I dont want to argue.

My point was you can increase power and it doesnt cost that much to raise the power level of the engine and even rebuilding the trans is not that bad... unless you keep doing it.

So even if you say you have to upgrade the brakes and trans, with a supercharger or turbo, any source... of boost. It would be no more expensive than one of the typical supercharger kits....

That is for 5k you could boost your engine, install a better trans with LSD and upgrade your brakes. If you can do the work, if you cant... well then you would probably be paying to install the supercharger kit... so it still might work out the same... although I bet lots of members on here would jump in and help...

I would add an LSD... and if I was going to do that might as well pop for a turbo trans with LSD....

Shops like 944 online and the like carry used LSD units - for 800+ used of course... then you have to install it in the trans.... so rebuild, etc... and more $$$ while you are at it.

For me that just means buy a 944 turbo trans with LSD check, inspected,etc.. for 2k with related bits... and install it. No harder than doing the clutch job.

Or the easy route just toss in the LSD... certainly stronger than the NA setup...of course you need to get lash right...

So lets look at it that way....

You can spend 5k for an current aftermarket Supercharger kit and whatever if you have to pay labor and tuning...

You could find a way to get or buy a lower cost supercharger or kit and make it work or known to work and do the upgrades...

Or you can sell your car... and take said money and buy a 944 turbo in same relative condition as your car... or better depending on investment.

If you opt for the sale and buy 951 route...you have same relative power as a base and can tune for more power .... after all their are $20k+ cars making 400-500hp... so you can do it too.

So... you take a chance on your trans and add more power... that is the contention... or if you have or get a trans rebuilt... you could get buy with modest power increases...

That is as far as I will go to agree and just let the issue drop
