OH I agree... but I wanted to avoid getting the sales side of it untill after we discussed the ups and downs, questions about the performance of the kit(s). What it can do, etc... then get into that stuff on here.
See its not like I just started selling them... been selling them to other car owners, sending them to Aus & UK, etc... Trust me I spend hours on email and the phone giving people personal one on one attention.
I dont sell to anyone who does not have a clue. They either get educated on the subject and have a clue when I am done or I dont sell to them. I dont want someone blowing up their car becuase they wouldn't listen.
I disagree about the fundemental direction the thread went... I also got bent about the nature of some of the commentary... or maybe a percieved or veiled... nature of the posts.
I Just wanted to share and say hey guys... this is what I am doing, this is what I did. I didnt just make a supercharger I made it to work on our cars... same with the 924.
Again.... I agree that the buyer, must be aware of what they are getting into, but I also disagree about load limits on the trans... so cant have both in one thread. I never even got around to properly answering some of the questions... I also missed a lot of the Superbowl damn it!
Anyway... yes the 944 is not the best platform engine and trans wise in stock trim to work with, but you can improve on a budget.
Putting 5k into a car and ending up with a better trans, brakes and more power? Thats a bargain... considering what you get. And you maintain the lower cost serviceability and maintence of a NA...
I have no issue with discussing setbacks... but lets face it... are we experts on these cars... one and all? No most of us are not, I know a lot, that doesn't make me an expert on the 944. I know engines, performacne, fuel, programming, tuning. Even low buck, low tech.
You have seen my previous posts, I am always about DIY stuff...
I also went to the trouble of getting setup to carry and source lots of parts for these cars that I will list at a lower rate on my site and ebay, carrying 924/944 stuff isnt going to make me rich thats a given, one cause the market is narrow, two cause I refuse to put on high mark ups.
Like stainless valves complet set of 8 for the 924 or 944, these are OEM spec, but stainless steel... under 200... thats what I am talking about... or fiberglass... we do some in house stuff and carry all the in USA stuff and import... selling at below list prices... etc...
I mean if I sell at 10-15% OFF LIST price on fiberglass parts... how much mark up is their? GT-RACING, AIR, etc... they dont give their stuff away...
All in all my point is that -- potential salesman or not... the thread was not and is not to sell stuff.. That would be a FORSALE in want adds post.
