Did the same with mine when I had them apart. Used Tremclad clear coat on all the parts except anything that got realy hot (valve cover) and the belt cover. Should have done the belt cover. After a summer it looks almost as bad as it did originally but all the clear coated parts still look marvelous. It gave the intake manifold a sort of grayish colour. Almost like it was enamal coated and no pealing.
