i agree that just b/c something is labeled silver, it does not signify that it's inferior to a reposado. i like to taste test like-with-like, and chinaco's reposado makes patron taste like dishwater.
patron is good when you're in a bar that doesn't stock many brands and it invariably ends up being their top selection. try 'em out and see for yourself, but they're not cheap. many have "single malt" (or higher) prices.
i've heard good things about casa noble just haven't come across it yet to try. we'll see.
