We've had a couple of them too. I think our first was a Drahthaar, from a breeder in Idaho. I forgot the name. The second was a German Wirehaired Pointer named Anna Von Meisenhaus (we call her Candy, her reg. name was a mouthful
) IMO, the hoity-toity assertion that GWPs are a seperate breed and implication that they're lesser dogs in nonsense. GWPs might look a little different, but they're versatile passionate dogs who are just as friendly. From the VDDs and GWPs that I've known, there are bigger differences between individuals than between the breeds.
