The scope of the tranny rebuilt clinic was expanded a little bit to fix some nasty oil leaks on the 964. What a filthy mess. The chain housings acted like open drain plugs and there was a thick crust of oil and dust baked onto the engine under the fan shroud. At some point in the past there must have been a nasty oil breather hose leak or breather cover gasket leak. This will kill an engine since it effectively blocks airflow across the cooling fins of the heads and barrels. I belive its the main cause for barrels to go out of round. We had to scrape off most of that stuff before agent orange could be put to work. I am sure there won't be any weeds growing in Mike's driveway for a long time to come. Maybe there will be an oil field discovered in the future.....

The chain housings were leaking like sieves. All gasket surfaces were heavily corroded. Mr. razor blade and evil sealant were used before putting them back on. Next the cams get timed:
