Actually yes... I do weld... enough to maintain my certs... actually Id rather just weld than manage jobs, less headaches..
What led to my original post was that Thom said he had "a project".. that required welding over 1/4"..if its a once a year thing use the existing welder.... if your going to do it every day... buy a more powerful machine..
I think an at home welder should strive to meet the minimum of the applicable codes... what can be wrong with that?
