Check the body VERY carefully. If the typical rust areas are in good shape, jump on it. That "Ferrari" reference for the carbs is BS, of course. Webers were used on some Ferraris, but that doesn't mean anything to a 914.

Please note that this car MUST have the FI re-installed on it to be street-legal in some states, like California. If you live in one of those states, I'd only go half of what he's asking (unless the body was PERFECT!). There's a pretty large amount of hassle going from carbs back to FI, and cars you have to hassle with are worth less than ones you don't.

The "value" of a 914 varies a whole lot depending on condition and how common they are in your area. But I'd say a solid driver 2.0 for $3K is a pretty decent deal.
