Windows has a fundamental flaw in it that seems to be mildly address by the above changes. Basically that fact you need to be logged in as an administrator is the root of all this crap. All goes back to DOS which was a single user system with no connectivity then Windows built on top of DOS. Then with later versions of Windows backward compatibility had to be retained. If you could be logged in as a minimally privileged user for all times except software installation like Unix variants (Linux, Mac OSX, etc) then 95% of the spyware/viruii concerns would be gone. BUT it would break a pile of existing software that has been built with the assumption that the user is an administrator. Not to mention that users are used be a privileged user all the time and the inital perspective shift that would cause.
