It might be serously repressed from early childhood upbringing. How many intellectuals do you know that have 'thrown off' thier early church experiences.

Also, he is, through the Caprica 6 projection, getting messages about "God's Plan". I think many Meglomanics have this in common with Baltar.

Wow! We need to have someone here with a Degree in Psychiatry do work up on Baltar.

He's Schizophenic (hearing voices)
He's a Sociopath (Willing to kill to boost himself/his beliefs)
He's a Meglomanic (More important than anyone else in the world)
Some sort of victim complex (look at what Rossalyn thinks of me!)

He's a mess. A classic super villian, full of internal conflict over things he's done, all the while knowing he's better than others, but still 'subordinate' to the voices he hears.

Amazing.

And Caprica 6 is the opposite. She is full of remorse for what she did. She didn't understand what she was doing was wrong. But she does know now and needs to atone for it, along with Galactica Sharon (The one stationed on Galactica).

The Sharon on Galactica we should call Caprica Sharon (Origin). Got to keep them straight now that both are going to be main characters.

Maybe Helo-Sharon vs. Chief-Sharon.

Other ideas?
