There are many forums and sites (pelican equivalent) for lawn care. I would suggest starting with
Walter Reeves site. Even though it is Georgia centric, it has a lot of transferable information to the Kentucky area. It may also have links to other more appropriate resources.
Garden Web is also a good place to start.... there are TONS of forums on almost any gardening subject you could imagine.
