This can't be explained simply as personal choice.
This is larger than that. This is a large trend, a social movement. Personal choice can't explain the numbers of women who choose not to wear a ring. There must be other factors affecting their choice. I think the issues raised in Dan's reply are related to this issue; many women don't like being "attached" to one man, and on some level they want to keep their options open. I don't understand the psychology of this.
