Problem with locks/ignition

Hello Porsche afficianados. I'm hoping some of you can help a newbie out. I've read through some of the other threads and it appears there are quite a few tech people on here.

Tonight I experienced a couple problems (most likely related).

The first problem started earlier today; the light on the lock rocker switch would not go out. It would dim when unlocked, but stay illuminated. This has happened before, but last time it went out after a couple hours. Any advice so far?

The next problem I experienced was when I stopped off somewhere. When I went to unlock the car, the doors unlocked but the lights did not come on as usual and I did not hear that distinctive sound of everything unlocking. I did not think anything of it until I tried to start the car. All the electronics lit up, but it was as if the immobilizer had been activated; it would not start. I tried unlocking the car again, same problem. I tried unlocking the car from the passenger side, no luck. I went from door to door for about five minutes before calling for a ride.

While waiting for my ride to show up, I started to hear this horrible grinding noise. The noise was coming from below the trunk release and near the gas gap. It sounded like an electric motor, but it just kept going and going.

When my ride showed up, miraculously I was able to start the car. However, I am still unable to open the hood or trunk.

Any advice or suggestions?
