The point is, no president until Bush has put a political consultant in a policy position in the White House, never mind the most powerful staff position in all of Washington, D.C. I'm sure lots of them would have liked to, but no one ever dared.
Bush can do anything (or could) because his supporters accepted anything. Some even argue that he spent all our children's money because the libs made him do it
