Hence Bush's low approval ratings.
NBC’s Nightly News ran with a poll last week showing the President’s approval rating at 37 percent and then ran with another poll showing the same thing this week. But NBC, like ABC and CBS, failed to report that these polls show a majority of Americans support NSA eavesdropping to catch terrorists, support the Patriot Act and back permanent tax cuts. CBS’s Bob Schieffer repeated his mantra about “civil war” in Iraq. The Washington Post treated Senator Feingold’s drive to censure President Bush with greater attention than then- Representative Bob Barr’s push to impeach President Clinton in 1996.
Here is a classic example, by NBC's David Shiester, of media bias:
MSNBC’s David Shuster: "Clearly, the President’s team did anticipate the breach. This teleconference video from the day before the storm reached New Orleans shows the President was warned the breach was possible, and the tape shows the President’s team openly worried about the outcome. Max Mayfield, a leading hurricane expert, warned of massive devastation. Then, Mayfield directly addressed the reliability of the levees."
Max Mayfield, August 28 video conference: "I don’t think anyone can tell you with any confidence right now whether the levees will be topped or not, but that’s obviously a very, very grave concern."
Direct evidence of NBC's "reporter" David Shiester, lying to their audience.
Or, howz about liberal Evan Thomas' take on the effect of leftist media propagandists on the 2004 election. I think this accounts for how well Kerry did in 2004...
EVAN THOMAS (Newsweak): "There's one other base here, the media. Let's talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win and I think they're going to portray Kerry and Edwards I'm talking about the establishment media, not Fox. They're going to portray Kerry and Edwards as being young and dynamic and optimistic and there's going to be this glow about them, collective glow, the two of them, that's going to be worth maybe 15 points."
Evan Thomas nailed it.
