Replace the fill valve - it has 2 electric solenoids that open and close when the washer calls for hot or cold. It probably just isn't opening enough - very common on old stuff with hard water.
It is an easy job with a cheap part. Even if its not the problem now, it will be eventually. If the screens are full of sediment - change the whole valve anyway while you have it disconnected and its probably time for some new hoses as well. They really make a mess when they decide to go - especially if you don't notice it for a couple of days. Should't have to spend more than 30-40 bucks for all 3 pieces.
