Got a problem with performance
Hi all! Ive got a 74 engine that needs attention and I thought that you guys might be able to help. Here's the situation: CIS system has not been adjusted properly and I dont have a baseline to go on. The car idles somewhat rough at about 950 rpm, and it accelerates nicely and smoothly under normal driving. When I do gun it, it wont make power above 4000 rpm, kinda feels like its on a rev limiter. I misplaced my manual so I need some info. What is the proper timing settings for it? On the CIS adjustment, (on top of the fuel distributor and is adjusted by an allen tool) which direction are lean and rich? Does it sound like this car is running rich or lean based upon the 4000 rpm limit? Are there any baseline adjustments on the air/fuel and idle mixture adjustments? Any info would help and is greatly appreciated.
