911S had red fan shrouds. If you are sure that the motor is really fully S spec, then you would be justified in painting it red. The motor I'm building is an S with E cams, so I repainted the shroud green as it was originally on my E. I don't want to be in the position of claiming I've got something I really don't have, and if the paint chips here and there it won't look terrible.
