More or less, I think you're correct.
But doesn't a lot depend upon how long you've smoked 'em?
One of the first "sensations" I noticed when I started was some have more of a mustard taste than others. And, of course, some are stronger than others.
If a newbie picks a particular harsh smoke at the shop I go to, the manager will ask that person if they've eaten first. If they say "No, I haven't eaten," he won't sell them the stogie.
