Most of the classic styles use round headlights. The Mini, the VW bug, even the Jeep suffered slow sales and returned to the round headlamps. Oh, and there is another classic...the Porsche 911. One of the big complaints about the 996 was the "modern" headlights.
The new Jag XK is a great car, but the headlamp styling can be found on any late model Honda, Hyundai, Toyota or minivan.
Round headlights give a car "presence".
