Nobody knows the rate of sea level rise we will experience. The Greenland icecap melt seems to be accelerating beyond all estimates. And the Antarctic ice is also thinning at an alarming rate. Some think there will be a logarithmic rate of rise in sea level. But nobody really knows -- the # of factors involved is staggering.
Anyway, like the Travis Bickle quote, it was hyperbolic.
My point was that these seeming 'crises' will be minor in comparison to what we may face from climate change.
