I had a '03 Altima, 3.5, quick as all get-out. Lots of fun. I ended up trading it in on a '03 Lexus. The interior quality of the Altima is pretty bad. Lots of little broken parts.
To me it boiled down to quality and intended purpose. The Lexus is hands down better quality, and is *really* comfortable conveyance. It's a much better car for taking the in-laws around, cruising to Tahoe (or Vegas, or Phoenix).
