First wife was manic depressive. Three Psychologists couldn't cure her. She finally passed away, victim of an aneurism, possibly the result of the long term use of certain meds.. This left me with very mixed feelings about meds and shrinks. I even have "bad days" with an occasional "meltdown" that results in just finding a quiet place for up to a day and working it out. Generally the solution is off to the workshop and get involved with a project. Even the simplest thing like cutting wood and making something usually gets my mind off whatever it was that triggered the "event".
