Peak torque on the F20C VTEC (earlier edition) was at 7500rpm, seeing 240hp at 8300rpm, this rendered it difficult to drive within normal ranges of driving...you had to keep the engine reving high in order to keep it within the powerband.
The F22C1 was developed, upping the displacement from 2 to 2.2 liters, reducing the redline to 8000rpm, peak power at 7500rpm, peak torque at 6500rpm.
